Communication is the exchanging of information, and it's so important in life. There are many different ways communication can received and delivered by people. Humans respond to all kinds of communication. One example is verbal. When one person is talking to another, they respond back verbally. That could be in person or over the phone. They are verbally talking out loud to respond back to someone, or to deliver their own thoughts. Another example of communication to respond to is written. People can physically write out something on a piece of paper, or even write something out virtually through a text or email. This is a way to quickly respond to communication when it can't be done verbally. When is comes to visual communication there are many important aspects that make it up. Colors are important in visual communication because it catches people's attentions and also sets the mood for that particular message. Another important tool is images. When an image is added to a piece of visual communication it's easier to sum up the meaning of it. Without an image it could be difficult to understand what the visual is meant to represent. Cohesiveness is also important in visual communication. When symbols and images are all being used in a cohesive manner, the message comes across more put together. Some brands and companies are great examples of good visual communication use. The first example is Heinz. In a Heinz advertisement they used this picture. It represents how Heinz uses fresh tomatoes to make their product. It also uses color as a way to represent their brand and capture the viewers attention. The use of words at the bottom of the image pulls it all together cohesively as well. The second example is Vogue's cover with Harry Styles. This cover has Styles as the main focal point, large in the center of the cover. The dark color of Styles's jacket goes boldly against the light sky and grass of the background. This is a great use of color to bring the viewers attention to Styles. The cover has the name Vogue large up top where it normally is which still pulls the eyes to know which magazine it is, but isn't the center focus. All the text on the cover are centered where there should be to make the cover look clean. There is also an appropriate amount of negative space. The final example is the Rolling Stones 50 years logo. The main focal point of the poster is the iconic Rolling Stones tongue symbol. This immediately captures the viewers attention, and also will makes it recognizable. The use is colors also represents the band and goes together smoothly. The name of the band is above the symbol and it also includes the number 50 as the letters S and O. This added a different way to represent the 50 years celebration through the name of the band. This visual is creative through it's symbols, colors, and use of words.
